Search Entries
A name, place, or other term entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Gallatin County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its own privacy policy, terms, and technology.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact-form message, we retain the message and the contact details needed to answer it. That material is used to respond, address the request, or maintain the conversation. We do not disclose a message outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement compels disclosure.
Automatic Technical Information
Standard web systems can record limited technical details whenever a page loads. These records help measure use, maintain performance, and diagnose faults. They may include:
- The visitor’s Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device class and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps for requests
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and how features perform. Browser controls can reject or delete cookies. Blocking them may cause some functions, preferences, analytics, or advertising features to behave differently.

Links and Outside Services
Pages link to Gallatin and Saline offices, Illinois corrections systems, federal and immigration locators, court resources, release-record portals, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination’s own privacy notice and terms govern its collection and use of information. We do not control those outside practices.
Some advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based advertising. That tracking occurs through the provider’s systems, not through a separate personal-data file maintained by Gallatin County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may nevertheless reach service providers that perform a requested or necessary function:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site performance
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess advertisements
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Each recipient receives information according to its role and applicable rules. Following an official Gallatin, Saline, IDOC, BOP, ICE, or court link also creates a direct interaction between the visitor and that government system.
Safeguarding Information
Reasonable, commonly used security practices are applied to information under our control. No website, network, storage service, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. This notice therefore does not promise that a breach, loss, interception, or unauthorized access can never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent, guardian, or affected person believes a minor submitted personal data, contact us and identify the material so a deletion request can be reviewed.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify the request, a user may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask that eligible information be erased
- Object to or opt out of certain processing
These choices apply to information controlled by this site. A request concerning a sheriff, jail, IDOC, BOP, ICE, court, search partner, analytics provider, or advertising network must be directed to the organization that holds that information.

This Privacy Notice may be revised as site practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. An updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after publication is subject to the revised notice.
