Why This Resource Exists
Release information is split among several custodians. The Gallatin County Sheriff may keep an arrest or transport record. Saline County Detention Center may hold the physical booking and release entry. The Gallatin Circuit Clerk maintains court filings, while the Illinois Department of Corrections records state-prison status, parole dates, and discharge information. Federal and immigration cases require different systems. Bringing those official paths into one clear structure can reduce mistaken claims based on a missing roster name.
What We Provide
We publish plain-language explanations of public record routes, agency roles, and source limits. The site links to sheriff and county offices, Illinois corrections and parole resources, court access, VINELink, and federal locators. It does not copy or host official release records. It also cannot confirm that a person is in custody, release anyone, change a record, give legal advice, or act for an agency.
Gallatin County Released Inmates is privately owned and has no affiliation with Gallatin or Saline County, any sheriff, jail, court, the Illinois Department of Corrections, the Prisoner Review Board, BOP, ICE, or another government office.
Responsible Record Use
Public custody information is easy to misread. Leaving Saline County may mean transfer to IDOC, another county, USMS, or immigration custody rather than community release. A projected discharge date is not always the day someone leaves prison. Official facts should be checked with the office that created the record.
